Nursing Society moves to online training
A national nursing society wanted to conduct their distance education programs
remotely, rather than the traditional face-to-face meetings that they have had
in the past. There were several reasons for the decision, including the rising
costs of travel and hotel accommodations for both members and speakers.
This was a new undertaking, so they asked for our assistance with both online meeting technology and participant registration. Two web sites for their two different program series were created. The sites helped provide information about the programs, technical information about the Web Conference itself, and a way to register for any, or all of the programs.
We then trained their staff as well as their speakers on the Web Conferencing technology. Since this was a free seminar series for participants, the society needed to cut the registration off at 200 participants; however there were many more that wanted to participate. Therefore, we recorded all of the meetings and made them available for playback on the Website for those that were not able to attend.
The program was a huge success. They are planning to conduct a number of Distance Education meetings like this in the future. They found the service so easy that they’ll be using it for other meetings, such as Board and committee conferences, as well. Here’s feedback from some of the participants:
